I think this rule is great when it comes to training dives. I like the fact that I can teach Open Water Advanced Open Water courses over three days weekend. I can go to Florida for a four day weekend and the students can get there Open Water and Advanced Open Water certification.

Putting the courses together makes the diver so much better because the go straight from the Open Water dives to the Advanced Open Water dive and they just start to become so much more confident and a better divers. Those divers that wait a few weeks tend to forget some basics in diving and lose there confidence.

Diving is just like driving.  When you first start to learn how to drive a car, you were sluggish and nervous about missing the speed limit or stop sign.  After a month or two you became a better driver and the instructor / parent start to let you go on you own.  Just like diving after the forth dive how comfortable in diving can you be.  But if you learned five more skill and spent more time in the water and having an instructor tell you more ways to improve your personal skills.  Yes you can do it on your own, it will just take more time and aggravation to get to the same level you would  be after spending a little more time with an instructor.

What a very nice piece of software.  Eve is a Point Of Sales software that ties directly into PADI o that dive shops can use online PICS and upload the pictures and diver information in a seamless way.  It has a great back end that can be upgraded to SQL for larger shops.  I think this something tha tis going to keep PADI on top  as a dive leader

Local Diving in the Northern Virginia area is pretty nice. You are only a few hour flights to South Florida and you can jump in the local lakes.

I have been diving in Millbrook Lakes for several years. The best time to dive there is June thru November. There has been times when the water temp has reached 75 degrees and had 40 feet of visablity.

I also like to make the trek to Virginia Beach. You can get some nice dive in about 40 feet of water and see some nice fish and a nice dive.

The IDC has finally come to The IDC staff instructor. They are now going back to the way of old. There is part 1 (the AI course) and part-2 (the OWSI course). I think that there is going to be a good market for the IDC staff instructors, if they can partner up with some good Course Directors. If the IDC staff instructor is competent they will be able to get the candidate ready for the OWSI course, and make life easer for the CD. The IDC staff instructor will be able to work with the Course Director and get some good skill on evaluation. In return the IDC staff instructor will be able to help the Course Director when it comes to evaluating the IE candidates
